Summertime Fun

Summer has officially begun in the Lott household with the fast rise in temperatures. We spent the whole day in swimsuits yesterday. First, we went and bought a snazzy new water toy that is just perfect for little guys like Asher. He loved it and kept trying to catch the water that streamed out. Then, we went to a friend's house to play in the kiddie pool there. The wagon picture was taken after Asher had fallen into the pool trying to get a toy. VERY scarey! He was fine, but I couldn't believe how fast it just happened! Everyone there thought it was kinda funny, but I was shaken by it all. Nevertheless, it was a good day, and we'll probably get out our pool today. Btw, I'm trying to figure out the whole video thing on here to post Asher walking. I know I'm WAY behind on pictures.

Poo on the Alphabet!

Ok, so far i totally stink at this alphabet thing. I simply don't download pictures from my camera that often. In the mean time while I'm waiting on the perfect event for the upcoming letter, I miss posting really important stuff. Asher started walking week before last, and I didn't even post it! He has all sorts of new words, and still nothing. I really thought the alphabet thing would be easy. Boy, was I wrong! Random post are more my speed even though I love being creative. Only so much time in a day though.

Delicious!

In old Southern style we cut a watermelon last night after cooking out for Memorial Day. I knew there was a chance that Asher wouldn't like the new fruit since the only fruit or veggie item he will eat on a regular basis is a banana or sweet potato. Nevertheless, I stripped him down to nothing but a diaper "just in case". Lo and behold he loved the watermelon! He kept trying to go after it on his own, burying his face in the cold, sweet goodness. He was so happy and SO messy! That's my boy!

Yesterday, Asher had his school pictures, and of course he did great! Only 2 kids in his class did not cry, and he was one of them. His teacher sent home a note saying he smiled big, and his pictures were cute...Duh! :)

B is for...

Birthday!
Asher has already had his birthday this year, but he got to go to his friend Sara Payton's party on Saturday. She is 2. Even though we didn't swim it was nice out by the pool. Her cake was adorable and pretty yummy too. It had strawberries in the bottom layer. Thank you for inviting us, Sara Payton!

ASHER!

Guess you wouldn't have guessed that!

Asher gives me so much purpose. He's everything I want to be--beautiful, innocent, charming, and funny! He is truly a gleam of Heaven right here on Earth for Mark and me.

For those that don't know our story Asher was a bit of a surprise. We found out we were pregnant only 5 months after getting married and 4 days after closing on a house. You might think it's terrible to admit this, but I was somewhat horrified. We had so much to do before having kids! The Lord showed us differently. He blessed us with a gorgeous, healthy boy that my Daddy was absolutely in love with. If Asher had come along on OUR schedule we would have missed experiencing this with my Dad. Instead, God's timing was perfect! I can't imagine life without Asher now. He is my heart and soul on this Earth.
